This one wasn't as potbound as the other arborvitae (from F-G-T in spring 2019), but I still shaved the outermost inch or so off of four sides of the root ball and loosened some substrate away from what remained. I added blood meal to the backfill, but since this was a #7 pot (the biggest size from which I've ever planted), I didn't dig the hole as wide as I probably should have (it was taking too long and the wheelbarrow was running out of room). But hey, at least this is an actual Emerald Green.

Plant Detectives is a local nursery -- no mail order, delivery only locally and for an extra fee -- but unlike most local nurseries around here, their website lists their inventory (though it's a bit clunky to search), including how many of each are in stock, and allows you to place orders for pickup.
